The IEEE 802.1X standard defines a client-server-based access control and authentication protocol that restricts unauthorized stations from connecting to a LAN through publicly accessible ports. An authentication server (typically RADIUS-based), is used to authenticate each client connected to a switch port before making available any services offered by the switch.
Net-O2 ATTEST 802.1X test suite provides support for testing both Authenticator and Supplicant functionalities, while internally simulating the functionality of a RADIUS Authentication Server. The test suite includes tests for EAPOL processing scenarios, Port Access Control Management and state machine tests for both Authenticator and Supplicant.
Together with other Layer-2 bridging test suites such as
STP, RSTP, MSTP, VLAN and LACP, Net-O2 provides one of the most comprehensive solutions for conformance testing of Ethernet Switches. Layer-3 Test suites are also available.
