Net-O₂ SwitchTester IPv4

With wide availability of internet protocol (IP) aware devices and applications, IP-based switching products are supported by practically all wire-line and wireless equipment manufacturers. These devices implement are large number of IETF RFCs functionalities relating to forwarding, routing, quality of service, security, redundancy etc.

As equipment manufacturers of Layer 2/3 Ethernet switches strive to enhance their products to support new platforms and applications, the availability of Net-O₂’s comprehensive automated functional tests for several deployment scenarios reduces testing time and shorter time to market, with enhanced quality.

Net-O₂ SwitchTester IPv4 test suites provide functional testing for RFCs such as IPv4 forwarding, RIP, OSPF, VRRP, etc., in scenarios involving VLAN, RSTP and LACP protocols.

Switch Tester IPv4 functional test suite contain test cases that verify the router’s ability to interact with different routing protocols such as RIP, OSPFv2 and statically learnt routes. The device is tested for dynamic operation scenarios such as learning of the routes using the routing protocols and the forwarding of the data frames (tagged, untagged) based on the learnt routes. Protocol stress tests include support to verify the implementation-specific scalability support for features such as maximum OSPFv2 neighbors, link state data base entries, routing table entries etc.
