The purpose of Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) is to move datagrams through an interconnected set of networks by passing the datagrams from one host or gateway to another until the destination is reached. The datagrams are routed through individual networks based on the interpretation of an internet address.
Net-O2 ATTEST IPv4 test cases perform conformance testing for IP Header validation, and verify the fragmentation and reassembly mechanisms of an IPv4 host. Internet Control Management Protocol (ICMP) error generation and Echo Request / Reply functionalities are also tested. In addition, the test cases verify the IP addressing and data forwarding behavior of an IPv4 system.
Net-O2 also offers RIP and OSPF test suites for conformance testing of IP in Routers and Switches. Multicast test suites such as IGMP and PIM and Layer-2 bridging test suites such as
RSTP, MSTP and VLAN are also available.
