Attest PIM-SMv6 Overview

Protocol Independent Multicast version 6 (PIMv6) is independent of the IP routing protocol and relies on underlying unicast routing protocols such as OSPFv6 or static routing to perform the multicast forwarding function. PIM Spare Mode version 6 is defined in RFC 4601 Protocol Independent Multicast - Sparse Mode (PIM-SM): Protocol Specification (Revised).
