The Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) provides a standard method for transporting multi protocol datagrams over point-to-point links between two peers. The protocol includes a method for encapsulating the datagrams, a Link Control Protocol (LCP) that handles the data-link connection, and a family of Network Control Protocols (NCPs) that handle the different network-layer protocols.
The Net-O2 ATTEST PPP Test suite is used to verify conformance of the Device Under Test to the Point to Point Protocol (LCP, IPCP, PAP and CHAP) and PPP over Ethernet as defined by RFCs 1332, 1334, 1661, 1994 and 2516. ATTEST verifies PPPoE conformance on servers as well as hosts.
Net-O2 also offers IP, RIP and OSPF test suites for conformance testing of IP in Routers and Switches. Multicast test suites such as IGMP and PIM and Layer-2 bridging test suites such as RSTP, MSTP and VLAN are also available.
