Net-O2 ATTEST Network Security testing solutions

Computer networks are increasingly becoming targets of security threats from both within and without. Network Security is thus a primary aspect of any network deployment today. As network equipment manufacturers continue to enhance and develop new products using open platforms and third-party software, the availability of Net-O2's comprehensive automated tests for verifying security functionality in several deployment scenarios, provides the advantage of reduced testing time and shorter time to market, with enhanced quality.

Net-O2 ATTEST-XP test suites provide fully automated comprehensive verification of network equipment covering tests for Functionality, Multi-protocol behavior, Scalability, Robustness, etc.

Net-O2 ATTEST-CTS test suites verify conformance to specific communication standards.

Net-O2 ATTEST-XP and ATTEST-CTS test suites are based on the Net-O2 ATTEST Testing Framework

ACL, DoS

802.1X  (IEEE 802.1X - 2004)

Net-O2 ATTEST-XP ACLs provides Comprehensive tests for verifying the access control support in a L2/L3 device. Test cases verify the system behavior for:

  • Access parameters based on IP related parameters or MAC related parameters

  • ACLs are associated with aggregated links and individual links

  • Access verification using both Tagged data packets and Untagged data packets

Net-O2 ATTEST-XP DOS provides Comprehensive tests for verifying mitigation of Denial of Service attacks. The automated ATTEST-XP DOS test cases are integrated with third party hardware based packet generators and thus the attack data is generated at wire speed data rates. Test cases verify the system behavior when it is made to face the following types of attacks:

  • ARP Flooding

  • Gratuitous ARP Flooding

  • Telnet packets based Land attack

  • HTTP packets based Land attack

  • Ping flood attack

  • Smurf attack

  • Telnet packets based SYN flood attack

  • HTTP packets based SYN flood attack

In addition, Net-O2 ATTEST-CTS 802.1X, verifies conformance to IEEE 802.1X specification thus ensuring better interoperability with other vendor implementations.
