Spanning-Tree Protocol (STP) is a Layer
2 protocol designed to run on bridges and
switches. Spanning Tree Algorithm allows
for dynamic discovery of a topology by bridges
which while being loop-free, would also
provide a path between every pair of LANs.
Net-O2 ATTEST STP test cases perform conformance testing for various scenarios of active topology and STP port role types. Port state tests verify for transitions from Blocking to Forwarding states and vice-versa. Data Forwarding and Filtering Database test cases verify for Relay and Filtering behavior.
Together with other Layer-2 bridging test suites such as VLAN, RSTP, MSTP, 802.1X and
LACP, Net-O2 provides one of the most comprehensive solutions for conformance testing of Ethernet Switches. Layer-3 Test suites are also available.
